Are those stingy people executing this act being depressed?

There is no direct link between stinginess and depression. While some people might exhibit stinginess as a symptom of another underlying issue, like anxiety or a post trauma, stinginess itself is not a cause of depression. Depression is a complex condition stemming from a variety of factors, including biological, psychological, and social elements. It is also important to avoid assumptions about someone's mental health based solely on their financial behavior.

Not necessarily. Stinginess can stem from various factors like upbringing, financial anxiety, or personality traits. While depression might lead to changes in spending behavior, being stingy alone isn't a direct sign of depression. Context and patterns matter for understanding the cause.

Being somewhat stingy is just maintaining a budget, but some people go into overkill. In fact, they are goody two shoes, kill joys, politically correct, whatever you want to call it. They won't have even a mild vice for fear of spending money. :D

Indeed, those stingy people have a strong spirit to overcome their fears and embrace a new way to improve their conditions. It seems they also lack attention.

There are people out there who are stingy not out of depression but due to various factors like upbringing, or some difficulties they must have gone through hence they find it hard to release resources.

Depression can't make you stingy. Stinginess is a lifestyle. I know of people that in the midst of their depression are still showing love and generosity to people.

When the OP means "stingy", does she really mean "selfish"? Yes, I think some people are incredibly selfish. In that case, they don't give to others and that can lower depression.

Perhaps these people are full of self-pity as so many are these days, lol.
