Professional therapy can offer structured support, while self-help strategies give flexibility. Both approaches have benefits. Which method has worked better for you in managing depression: therapy, self-guided techniques, or a mix of both?

Therapy provides professional guidance, structured techniques, and accountability, which can be veey helpful for severe depression. Self-help methods like exercise, journaling, meditation, or support groups can complement therapy or help mild cases. I haven't tried both because I do not have a severe depression but I believe both methods compliments for better results.

The therapy depends on you and what works best for you. Therapy is certainly one option afforded to you, but there's also medication and alternative options instead of going to therapy. I think overall, the best thing for depression, is therapy, but like I said, some people will find medication just as useful, or even better in some ways.

Therapy is not a thing here in my country for those that are suffering from depression. It is always self help that I use. I talk to positive people and read books to move away from depression. I also try to do fun stuff like playing of games and writing to overcome depression.
