Depression and Masculinity

It's not considered cool for men to cry or be depressed.  Do you feel it shouldn't be?  Well, I don't think men should cry or show depression symptoms cause it's not really helping the situation anyway.  But of course, I'm sure a lot of men cry and show depression symptoms in private and I suppose there's nothing wrong with that.

Well, how do you feel about women and depression and crying?  It's more acceptable for them to act that way, but then again, too much crying and depression isn't good so maybe they would benefit by trying to toughen up a bit.

A lot of males don't like showing any signs of Depression as it could be a sign of Weakness linking onto their masculinity. However, this is a bunch of rubbish and very stereotypical. You shouldn't be afraid to speak up otherwise you'll never solve problems.

I always believe that people that go through painful situations that warrants crying should do so regardless of whether they are male or female. One thing that I have come to discover is that crying could be an effective coping mechanism to painful situations.

Men feel they exhibit weakness when they accept their vulnerability. That's why a man would be going through depressing periods and would be acting like they are not bothered. They bottle it inside and might rather take it out on other people. That's not acceptable.
