According to a paper published on National Center for Biotechnology Information, U.S. National Library of Medicine, people in the middle age are likely to suffer from depression more than people in other age group. The study found that women are more susceptible to depression than men (81 percent).
Some of the reasons might be hormonal changes (menopause for example), getting old, social pressure to look young and beautiful, issues with kids and spouses, etc.
