Does being raped make you feel depressed?

Rape is one of worst things or an experience anyone can pass through. It burns the body and soul that who ever was the victim of rape will never remain the same person again for the rest of her or his life.

But there's something that keeps bugging me because I've seen some people whom have been raped and it was made a public knowledge but they still go about their business like nothing happened. Does it mean that they were never affected by the rape psychologically?

Honestly speaking,  it is always difficult to get those who were raped in the past to start living a better life again.  I have been in situations where I spoke to some of the victims, and the experience is traumatic that they will want to be on their own for a very long time. So, for me, depression is the first stage that they handle in their journey to healing from the ugly experience.

Rape doesn't just make someone depressed. It can even make one traumatised for life. I have a friend that is afraid of men at 25 years old. And it traced that she is suffering from the trauma of being raped at 13. Rape can completely damage a person mentally.

It is a very terrible feeling to get raped. That someone forcefully had intimacy with you can affect you so badly. It gets worse for women and male children that get raped. It rattles them mentally and psychologically.
