Growing Apart: When Lifelong Friends Change

People evolve, and so do friendships. But losing connection can trigger sadness or guilt. Should we fight to keep old friendships alive, or accept that growth means drifting apart? How do you deal with emotional pain from changing friendships?

People change. interests, values, or life circumstances shift, and that can naturally create distance. It’s normal to grieve the closeness you once had, but sometimes accepting the change and appreciating shared memories is healthier than forcing the friendship to remain as it was.
