How can society help individuals dealing with impulse control disorders?

In your opinion, what steps can society take to better support individuals dealing with impulse control or addiction disorders, and how can awareness and understanding be improved?

Society isn’t a single entity; it’s a mix of people with varying attitudes, so relying on it for help isn’t always effective. Instead, individuals can seek therapy, build self-awareness, practice mindfulness, and join support groups. Strong personal relationships, structured routines, and self-imposed digital limits can also improve impulse control.

Society can play a significant role by offering more understanding and support for those dealing with impulse control disorders. This can include promoting awareness, reducing stigma, and providing access to therapy and mental health resources. Support networks, whether through family, friends, or community groups, can also help by being patient and encouraging positive behavior changes. Education on impulse control strategies and self-regulation techniques, like mindfulness or cognitive-behavioral therapy, can be effective tools.

Totally agree. Society is formed by people and people have different behavior and temperament. A society is formed by good people and bad people, sensitive people and insensitive people, helpful people and unhelpful people. Therefore, you cannot expect anything from the society as a whole. You need to choose your own people.

I think the best society can do is to understand them that this is their weakness and not react to them when they do certain things. At the end of the day, the person with this issue has to be the one to change.
