How depression affects relationships and daily life

Depression affects most of my daily life and relationships. The area which suffer more is social isolation. However, finding help and support taught me to deal with my symptoms. What are your experiences with depression's effects on your relationships and daily life?

Depression can deeply affect relationships and daily life. I’ve seen how it creates emotional distance, causing people to withdraw or feel misunderstood. In daily life, tasks feel overwhelming, and joy diminishes, making even simple activities feel like a struggle.

Depression affects your relationship with people including your spouse. You won't be able to do fun things together. You won't have good romantic time and it would affect that relationship. For daily life, you won't feel the need to do anything when you are depressed. And you lose things.
