There have been a lot of studies on the effect of gardening on mental health. All the studies conclude the same thing gardening will boost your psychological, emotional, and physical health. When you are gardening you will be doing a lot of hard work, which means you get good exercise. When you are gardening, and when you are enjoying it, you will be relaxed and calm, which will boost your mental and emotional health.

You can grow medicinal plants and herbs and use a holistic healing approach. For instance,  you can grow plants like aloe vera and use it as an antiseptic remedy, or hair conditioner, you can even consume aloe vera when your blood pressure rises. You can grow herbs like you can grow mint to help you with indigestion and bloating, grow ginger and use it for cough and cold, etc.

You can also grow indoor plants. When you have indoor plants in your house, the oxygen levels in the house will increase, which leads to enhanced mood, deep concentration, good sleep, and reduction in stress and anxiety.

Gardening is therapeutic and this has been well proved. It's a good hobby yo inculcate and is a good way to engage yourself in doing something productive. It also brings one close to the Nature and that's healing in itself. You develop a bond and closeness to your garden. You nurture them and it gives a sense of accomplishment and happiness to see something being nurtured and growing well. Creating something beautiful with your hands is always a satisfying experience. Gardening gives you that inner happiness and boosts your emotional and mental health.
