Hurting Yourself in the Bout of Anger

People with anger issues are more likely to hurt themselves than the person they are angry at. Let me exemplify this with an anecdote. A snake crawled over a knife and cut itself. It was angry, so it wrapped around the knife, and hurt even more. The snake refused to let go anger and continued to squeeze harder. It did not know the need to release the pain and move on. It finally died.
Just like the snake, if you hold on to your anger without letting it go, it will destroy you.
Do you have anger issues, have you hurt yourself because of your anger?

Hurting yourself in a bout of anger is often a sign of intense emotional overwhelm. I’ve found that pausing, stepping away, and activities like deep breathing, counting, or physical movement, can help release anger safely and prevent self-harm.

People that have anger issues always take decisions and actions at the heat of the moment. And those actions and decisions always have a tendency to be ones that would hurt them. That's because they don't give much logical thoughts to the consequences of those decisions and actions. They just react with emotions.

I wouldn’t say I have big anger issues, but I’ve definitely had moments where I held onto anger longer than I should have. It didn’t hurt me physically, but it drained my energy and made me overthink. Letting go, like walking or meditating, always helps me calm down.
