Our early life goes a long way in shaping our personality. We have an innate personality that we are born with but then there are certain traits that we get because of the circumstances. Our order of birth is believed to play an important role in shaping our personality. In earlier times, parents had many children. Now a days, most couples are opting for a smaller family size due to various socio economic factors. This all have been shown to have some direct and indirect impact on our personality. Various studies and research are done. A lot of your personality traits are dependent on your birth order...whether you were eldest one or middle child or youngest one. Well, we can't give a rigid specific result when we deal with human species as each one is unique. These results are mostly a broader view..example, elder ones are more responsible etc.

I think birth order does seem to influence personality, though it’s not absolute. From my experience and observation, eldest children often carry responsibility early, while middle children can be more adaptable and diplomatic, and youngest kids sometimes show more attention-seeking or playful traits. In my own family, I noticed the eldest naturally took the lead in planning and organizing, the middle sibling balanced different perspectives, and the youngest brought humor and energy into most situations. Of course, environment, parenting style, and individual temperament also shape personality, so birth order is just one piece of the puzzle.

I’m the last child, not the leader like firstborns, but pampered as the lastborns. But I learn to balance things. I noticed the first born always wants to be in control, while my younger one never takes anything seriously. So yeah, birth order can shape you, but parenting and environment matter too.

I am a firstborn and society has placed it on me to be a natural leader to my younger ones. That has affected my temperament as I am more accommodating than my the rest of my siblings. I had to learn how not to be entitled by virtue of my birth position but to alway earn more so that I can give out to my younger ones.
