There is no clinical diagnosis called simple depression. Depression is a complex mood disorder with varying levels of severity and presentation. There could be mild depression. This is characterized by symptoms that are less severe and disruptive than major depressive disorder. It is impacting daily life, the symptoms might be manageable without extensive intervention. The individual may experience sadness, fatigue, loss of interest, but those symptoms are not as intense as in more severe forms of depression.

If you are talking about figure of speech, there is something called "being depressed." For instance, if you are stuck in the traffic for a long time you might feel depressed, or if you had a bad day you might feel depressed. However, this situation or mental condition is very different from a situation when you have actual depression. being depressed is simple thing, having depression is very complex situation.

To simply put it, there are different levels and cases of depression, in other words not all depression can be classified as an disorder.
