Back a bit before Covid I used to work at a call center. The company I was taking calls for was some toy company, where I had to take calls from annoyed customers who made mistakes on their shipping label, or they didn't get their shipment, etc. I actually worked there I think two-three separate times. The first time was the worst, because I remember almost quitting day one because of how anxious it was making me.
Anyway, I hated the feeling I had waiting for phone calls. It was almost worse than the actual phone calls. But then I'd get an unruly customer who would chew me out for the company or the shipper making a mistake. Yet half the time, it's the buyer making a mistake when they enter their address. And once an order is submitted it can't be changed in any way. So we'd get a lot of customers throwing a fit about that.
I got one call where one order was never shipped out, shows label was made, and the guy called throwing a fit, saying the toy wasn't shipped and he wants it shipped now. I checked the tracking and it qualified for a re-order, so I told him we can't locate his package, but we can re-submit an order for him. But he kept saying he wanted the one that was already shipped. And wouldn't take another order. Guy was rude and annoying.
Sorry if this is all over the place, sometimes I ramble and I really hated working this job. My anxiety was through the roof and I hated every minute of it. It was nice to get some reading in between calls though. Was able to read the first game of thrones book during the second time I worked for them.
