Overthinking at Night

Many people struggle with racing thoughts before sleep. Have you found strategies like journaling, meditation, or background sounds help quiet the mind? What works best for you when overthinking becomes overwhelming?

I had this problem in the past, sometimes I ended up waking up until 3 or 4 am all the while thinking about a lot of things. Most of the thinking I did was about useless things, but instance I would be thinking about distant future that is so uncertain, or thinking about past events that couldn't be corrected. Thankfully, these days I don't over think at night and I can easily go to sleep within 10 minutes.

I've been pretty anxious as of late because I lost some work recently, and am having to find more. Due to that, I've been having trouble getting to sleep at night. Last night I was up until like 4 am, but mainly because I kept going on my phone. But yeah, I definitely overthink at night. But I do the same when I wake up early. If I wake up, sometimes I can't get back to bed, and I absolutely hate it.

Overthinking at night can make falling asleep really difficult. I find it helps to write down worries or tasks before bed, so my mind feels clearer. Gentle music, deep breathing, or a short walk can also calm racing thoughts and make it easier to rest.

I don't overthink at night. Yes I have met people who because of the tension could not sleep at night. They must find out the way to claim their mind because you need to have a good sleep to keep your mind healthy.
