Should Violent Games Be Blamed for Aggressive Behavior?

The debate over violent video games and real-world aggression never ends. Do games influence violent behavior, or are they just convenient scapegoats for deeper societal problems?

I don't think video games have that kind of affect on people. I think that violent video games can be a trigger for those who are already violent in nature, but I don't think video games are a cause or reason why people become violent. Usually those who become violent grew up in a bad way. Maybe they had a bad upbringing, bad parenting, we're bullied and or abused, and more.

People don't become violent out of nothing. It starts from something that happens in your life. Either that or someone has a severe mental health condition that makes them that way.

I think if we lump violent video games into this. I think we need to also bring up violent movies, TV, music and even books. Because if video games are a cause of violence, so are those other things mentioned.

No, I don't agree with you. I’ve played violent game since PS2 days like the GTA, Mortal Kombat, all of them, but I haven't turned into a street fighter. It depends on the person involved. If someone already has temper issues, maybe gaming will trigger it. But for most of us, it’s just a way to relax. Parents just need to monitor their children because that is important too.
