When Helping Others Becomes Self-Neglect

Being the go-to person for support is fulfilling, but constantly prioritizing others can lead to emotional exhaustion. Compassion fatigue is real, and self-care isn’t selfish. Setting boundaries ensures long-term well-being. Have you ever struggled to set boundaries while supporting others?

I have always told people that you can't love others more than you love yourself. You don't stick out for others and completely leave yourself out. It is not worth it. Don't give aid so much that you would soon be needing aid.

I feel like my Christian and family honor depends on me helping my wife (who is mentally disabled), and especially my kid, but it's rough on me because my life is all work and little play, and no amount of money seems to be enough to solve my wife's problems.
