Are you someone who hides your depression?

Many people when they are depressed can feel as though it's a bad thing to feel like they are doing and will do everything they can to hide their depression rather than let people know how they are feeling so that they understand better and can possibly help you through the times when you feel the way you do.

Are you someone who tends to hide your depression from others rather than be open about it?

I don't hide the fact that I am depressed. I am one person that would intentionally cry out. It soothes. Hiding your depression is not the best way to manage it. You should intentionally let people know you are depressed so they can help you.

My brother falls into deep depression every now and then. He hides it, by not talking to anyone. But that’s not really hiding it.
We all know that when he goes quiet, he is battling something in his mind, and it is usually depression.

No, I’m not one thar hides my depression. I take medications for my bipolar.
So I’m pretty stabilized and know when a depression bout forms.

When dealing with depression, you’re able to recognize the signs when you’ve been dealing with it for a long time. You can’t easily hide it from people.

Many people, including myself, sometimes hide depression to avoid burdening others, though openness can lead to support and healing.

I feel that is a lot of the reason that many hide their depression and will instead, show a different side to others, because they do not wish to be a burden on others. I have been in this situation many times, you put a smile on your face and continue.

I completely understand. Hiding depression to avoid burdening others is common. But opening up, even to one trusted person, can bring support, healing, and help ease the emotional weight you're carrying.

I have never experienced depression but if I did I would certainly hide from most people and only share about it with my loved ones, close family members and friends. There is no point o sharing with the people who cannot understand how you feel

I try to hide the fact that I am depressed as much as I can. It can get overwhelming and I start expressing the signs of depression. And before you know it, I have to talk about it with someone.

I do not have depression at all, but I don’t hide it when I even feel sad. I feel a need to just bare out my gear to someone and I will feel fine eventually.
