Do you think that when it comes to depression, between men and women, who seems to handle it better and heal from it faster irrespective of what's causing the depression for the person?

Do you think sex plays any role in how people recover from depression?

It is all about the mental strength of a person that determines how that person would handle depression and it is not about gender. There are some ladies that have incredible mental strength and can handle depression better. Same applies to men.

I think we women gets depressed more often than men. Guys and men don't fall into depression that easily. But when they become weak that they fall into it, theirs is always deep and it always takes a lot for them to come out without support. Women are always depressed and they easily come out, especially if they have kids.

There's no way of telling to be very honest. A man or woman can be mentally strong. This is why I wouldn't use sex to determine who can handle depression better.

In my experience, it’s not about gender but coping style. Men often suppress emotions due to stigma, while women may seek support more openly. I’ve seen both struggle differently, men silently, women emotionally, but healing depends on awareness, support, and healthy outlets.

I don’t think men or women inherently handle depression better. Each faces unique pressures, men with stoicism, women with emotional expectations, but I find coping depends more on support, therapy, and individual resilience than gender.
