Building Healthy Habits for Mental Health: Where to Start?

Small changes like better sleep, exercise, and balanced nutrition can improve mental health. What healthy habits have helped you? How do you stay disciplined? Are habits more effective than therapy or medication? How long does it take to show positive effects?

Start small but remember consistency is key. sleep well, eat well, maintain active life. Daily walks, mindful breathing, or gratitude journaling can help. Avoid overwhelming changes; instead, build habits gradually. Identify triggers and replace negative routines with positive ones. Most importantly, be patient, lasting habits take time but improve mental well-being.

What I eat. I don’t LOVE the Carnivore lifestyle, but it helps because you eliminate all the additives in foods and then your brain just works better. But I do throw in some carbs, and these are “clean” carbs.
Like potatoes.
If I eat a sandwich and some chips from the gas station, I get all kinds of weird symptoms when falling asleep. I know it’s all connected to what I eat.

The other important thing: Sleep. For sure.
