Danger of not taking medication

I saw few days ago a video on how a person who has schizophrenia committed double murder of two teens just because he had hallucinations. He told to a detective that there was a guy who threatened his girlfriend in case he doesn't kill the couple. And during the act he explained that this made up person kept yelling at him to kill them or that person will kill his family. On video footage we can see only him killing them but there is nobody else.

It is not the only known case where a person with schizophrenia kill others due to not using medications.

This is so sad. I feel bad that the lives of two teens ended just because someone failed to take his medications.

I'm aware that schizophrenia can cause hallucinations and delusions if not properly kept in check. So I'm not surprised this person's thinking is disorganized to the extent he's seeing someone who's non-existent. He needs to be restricted before he does worse things. But then again, what could be worse than murder?

Not taking prescribed medication for mental health conditions can worsen symptoms leading to increased anxiety, depression, or even physical health issues. It may delay recovery, reduce quality of life, and make coping with daily tasks much harder.
