Do you find something as simple as getting your hair cut can spike your anxiety?

Something I have noticed about myself is when I either have an appointment or whenever I tend to go to have my hair cut, I always feel more anxious than normal. Unless I know the hairdresser really well and I find it easy to have conversations with them, it can feel very awkward when you get your hair cut when you don't really have anything to say and you just sit there whilst they cut your hair.

Do you ever feel more anxious when you get your hair cut? Have you found any ways to deal with this when you get your hair cut?

Many people experience excitement when they get a new haircut. Same thing with me. I do not feel anxious. I am curious about my appearance after the change.

Those kinds of petty things don't spike up anxiety in me. I think I have that balance to get served anywhere without being anxious on how I would be able to relate with the person. And I think I got that from being in business.

I don’t havee anxiety, but I’ve noticed friends feel spikes from simple tasks like haircuts due to social pressure or sensory overload. I suggest calming techniques, like deep breathing, to ease their discomfort.

I do not have any issues but my wife does. I have noticed that even a simple thing like getting a hair cut spikes her anxiety. Her anxiety start getting to her nerves with insignificant things like our kid coming back home with stained clothes, kid not doing class work, its start raining just at the time when she is about to leave the house.

Definitely not, it's horrible that this happens to people. It seems to me that you're overthinking and maybe exaggerating because of what other people will say about a simple haircut. You shouldn't overthink, just cut your hair, get the haircut you like and that's it.

Yes, sometimes something as simple as getting a haircut can spike anxiety. The thought of small talk, changes in appearance, or just the unfamiliar setting can be overwhelming. I try to focus on the end result and keep calm during the process.
