When it comes to things like depression, it can be very hard to talk about it and to even speak to other people about it, especially if the people you are talking about it do not understand exactly why you are feeling like you are. Many times I have heard people say or people have told me that they have been told that depression is all in their head and they need to get out more and do more when they are depressed or they need to stop worrying so much when they are depressed. As someone who suffers from depression myself, I know that things like that do not help someone who suffers from depression but it makes things much worse.
Many people who talk about having depression and about what others say about it usually bring up their parents and in some cases, the answer is always that their parents do not understand. This seems to be quite common especially if your parents are a little older and set in their ways.
Do your parents know about your depression and do they understand?
