Does your anxiety cause you to avoid certain situations?

We know that Social Anxiety can cause us to not want to go out and interact with others, but for general anxiety is there any other situations you try to avoid because it may trigger an anxiety attack? I find myself getting anxious if my routine changes, and when it comes time to do something out of the ordinary I get anxious. Even if it's a minor change, like a few weeks ago we had a Chili cook off at work and I was anxious walking up to the table to get food. I still sucked it up and got some Chili though.

i don't like to indulge situations that gets me nervous. it is not just my thing. it is always good to leave situation that will keep you anxious over nothing

Yes, my anxiety often leads me to avoid certain situations. Anxiety attacks are a real struggle, and they feel pretty overwhelming, especially since I have a chronic condition.

There are times that I feel that the result of a thing won't be favorable and I avoid the situation completely. I have avoided going to meet some customers because of the anxiety that it would turn out to be a bad meeting, and even when it doesn't turn out to that way when I eventually force myself to do so.

anxiety often makes me avoid certain situations, especially if they feel overwhelming or uncertain. I’ve noticed that in social settings or high-pressure environments, my mind tends to focus on worst-case scenarios, which can make me withdraw.

I always find myself getting anxious when I have things to do quickly and I have not started with any of them. I always start being edgy and confrontational with people. It is just my mental response to the pressure that I am already having in my mind.
