Rather than sadness or anger, some people under stress feel emotionally numb. This detachment can stem from burnout, trauma, or depression. It’s a defense mechanism, but long-term numbness affects relationships and decision-making. Engaging in sensory experiences or therapy can help reconnect with emotions. Have you ever struggled with emotional numbness?
What small actions help you feel more present and connected?
 
Though I have never experienced it but I think doing what would make you feel better would help. Sometimes we just have to make ourselves better
 
Emotional numbness can be a defense mechanism against overwhelming stress or trauma. I’ve experienced it as a way for the mind to protect itself from intense feelings. While it may offer temporary relief, it can make it hard to connect with others or feel joy.
