Feeling of Guilt

One of the main reasons why people do not talk about their mental health is because of a feeling of guilt associated with it. Talking about your inner feelings, your thoughts, and your emotions are not in any way related to making yourself guilty. You can not be labeled as guilty unless you are seriously involved with hurting someone physically, mentally, and emotionally.

This is very true and it is often the reason why so many people will live in silence about their mental health issues rather than talk about them. I am the same, I always sit and think to myself "someone is probably going through something worse than me and I feel guilty for mentioning how I feel" and then I just keep quiet but that never helps when it comes to mental health. I have to try and get out of feeling guilty when I feel my mental health is taking a wrong turn and know that speaking about it is better than keeping it inside.

Guilt often stems from societal stigma, where people may feel ashamed for struggling with mental health. You might believe that you should "tough it out" or worry about burdening others. This guilt prevents open conversations, but seeking support is essential for healing.

Guilt is highly destructive and can alter your entire persona... been there, done that. But remember this......only those who have lost their humanity and are devoid of a conscience do not experience guilt. So give yourself a pat on the back for being at least human enough to have experienced this.

It's crucial to remember that experiencing mental health challenges doesn't equate to guilt. Sharing your feelings and thoughts is a sign of strength, not a reason for shame. Seeking support is a brave step towards well-being.
