How to silence a negative person

The answer is in the title. 🤫
A negative person will go after others trying to spread the negative energy they are carrying. But there is a reason for this.
They don’t want to carry this negativity alone. By getting someone else upset, they get to unload some of that negative energy onto the other person.
Silence works best here. Even if you try to laugh them off, they can still sense they’ve affected you in some way. But with silence and indifference, they have nothing to work with.
How do you handle a negative person?

When faced with a negative person, I stay silent and unresponsive—like a wall they can’t bounce their energy off of. Arguing or joking only fuels them, but indifference starves their need for reaction. I protect my peace, understanding their behavior comes from pain, not me. Sometimes, walking away is the kindest act—for both of us.

I agreed with your statement. Silence can be a very powerful tool to deal with negative people. When you do not react or engage with them, it will take their power away from us. Ignoring negativity and focusing on positive things is the best way out.
