Oftentimes people who are struggling with mental health will hide it or cover it up as best they can. They will often put on a good face, but secretly are struggling with something. I like to think I can hide my emotions, but eventually they bleed over and my emotions get the best of me. But how are we supposed to know if someone we know is going through it? Going back to the fact that some people can mask their struggles, even going as far to make it look like they're happy around you.
I think some things you can do is just talking to your friend. Even if they may seem good, ask them about how they are doing personally. Sometimes just asking about their personal life can help you get an idea of what their mindset is at that point and time. But the sad truth is, that you can be there for them every day, and yet they won't always reveal their struggles. Sometimes you won't know what those struggles are, and you have to hope they are doing good. But I think being their friends, helping them and being there for them is a big thing to make them know you're there for them. What do you think?
