Listening to songs that take you back to the past

This helps, because I will tell you why the past is comforting. It’s familiar. We already know the outcomes of all events, good or bad. It takes us back to when we were younger, especially older songs that take you all the way back to high school, even grade school.
But do you believe this is a way of hiding from the present, and future? Can it be overused as an escape?
