Social media dictating mood swings.

Of late, I have noticed how social media posts can upset or elate a person. Some people get so engrossed in the virtual world that it is hard for them to realise that it is not their reality. A lot of conflicting news, for instance, instigate instant rage in people that they are immediately ready to become violent.

Have you noticed anything similar around you? Does social media affect your mood too?

Yes, social media can impact moods, fueling anger or joy. Many struggle to separate online emotions from real-life experiences.

Some content on social media can be depression, and when you are exposed to these content for extended period of time, it might affect you and hence you are likely to experience stress and anxiety. However, social media content can also be fun and liberating and if you constantly see these content, you will feel relaxed. If you are experiencing bad mood due to the exposure to social media, you might have to stop what you are checking on social media.

I take everything on social media as cruise and that's why social media things can't drive me into depression. There are real life things that you see on social media that are very disturbing. And I feel bad for those. But most of the contents on social media are cruise and I won't even take such contents beyond face value.
